12.) Teenage engineering

Don’t let the name ‘Teenage Engineering’ fool you, it’s surprising what some engineers can put together. From great branding to the cool factor, we saved this doozy for last
The website and synthesizers aren’t made by a bunch of teenagers. The founders spent their time in 80’s Sweden tinkering around with old school home computers and synthesizers. This meant pushing physical limitations and helped shape the OP-1, their core product.
Teenage Engineering doesn’t have a conventional office. Instead they have a minimalist Swedish monster white garage full of classic and electric cars, 1980’s arcade games, vintage synthesizers and hi-fi.. and of course, a workshop full of prototypes.
Their banding and website design are fantastic. Bold electrical colours are the base of their product colours and this smoothly flows though into their packaging and website design. And their use of all lower-case font just blends in perfect and appeals to their younger target audience.
If you love making music, and love a bit of tinkering, then you’ll love Teenage Engineering and their products. Sure, there’s so much you can do on a laptop these days, but Teenage Engineering machines are organic and old school, and built with limitations on purpose, to push your creativity.
Stay home and tinker like a teenage sound engineer.
